I said. My Name Is Yo-ni (long o/long i)

Let's get right to it. I feel a tinge of disrespect, when people pronounce my name wrong. After I clearly said it with understanding. Me and humility have been holding hands for awhile now. It's time to be free from this type of trauma bonding.

My Aunt Lillie, a true angel, named me. Lore goes that my Mama called and confirmed from a previous prediction of me being female. So my Aunt Lillie in all her spiritual grace bestowed Yoni upon me. As a youngin', I didn't realize the weight it held. Yoni has become less of a namesake and more of a moniker. Because no one seems to be able to say two syllables correctly. So, I am forced to be known as Yo. (side-eye)

Yo, is to make people comfortable. Yoni is deep. Yoni symbolizes the spiritual nature of femininity. Yoni has been monetized. Yoni makes waves and demands presence. Yoni is not only organic. Or a cue to hypersexualize. Yoni is soft. Yoni tightly grips the essence of being Woman. I am Yoni. With a long o, long i.
